LISA MEINESZ

digital + physical sculpting

Lisa Meinesz is an Australian artist whose practice explores posthuman speculative biology.
Her work centres on digitally sculpted entities shaped by technological leftovers, biological adaptation, and environmental pressure, asking what kinds of beings might emerge once humans are no longer at the centre of the world.

Working primarily in 3D, Meinesz moves between digital modelling and physical fabrication. She creates speculative organisms that take form as 3D-printed sculptures in SLM aluminium, as well as cast biomaterial works produced from 3D-printed PLA moulds. These objects resemble future remnants or skins, suggesting bodies shaped by necessity rather than intention.

Alongside her fine art practice, Meinesz works as a 3D artist and designer in the film industry. Her credits include 3000 Years of Longing, animated future interface graphics for 65, and creature design for the Australian independent film In Vitro.
